The Ilitch Companies
The Ilitch companies own several companies in the metropolitan Detroit area. Mike and Marian Ilitch founded Little Caesars Pizza in 1959. In 1968, the Ilitches opened their first Blue Line distribution center to make and distribute Little Caesars pizzas to franchisees. The Blue Line grew rapidly and by 1977 operated nine warehouses across the United States.
In 1984, Mike and Marian Ilitch purchased the Detroit Red Wings, a National Hockey League team. In 1986, they added Olympia Entertainment, a sports and entertainment company that manages several facilities in Detroit including Joe Louis Arena, home of the Red Wings. In 2000, Mike and Marian Ilitch purchased the Detroit Tigers, a Major League Baseball team.
Olympia Entertainment also manages The Fox Theatre, one of the premier live entertainment venues in Detroit; Cobo Center on behalf of the Michigan Regional Convention Facility Authority; City Theatre; and bookings for Meadow Brook Amphitheatre on behalf of Oakland University.

One of the AL’s eight charter franchises, the club was founded in Detroit as a member of the minor league Western League in 1894 and is the only Western League team still in its original city. They are also the oldest continuous one-name, one-city franchise in the majors. The Tigers have won four World Series championships (1935, 1945, 1968, and 1984), 11 AL pennants (1907, 1908, 1909, 1934, 1935, 1940, 1945, 1968, 1984 2006), and four AL Central division championships (2011–2013). The Tigers also won division titles in 1972 , 1987 and 1993 while members of the AL East . The team currently plays their home games at Comerica Park in Downtown Detroit.
