Introduction
Dua Lipa is a British singer, songwriter, and model. Her musical career began at age 14, when she began covering songs by other artists on YouTube. In 2015, she was signed by Warner Music Group and released her first single, “New Love”. Her self-titled debut studio album was released in 2017 and peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart. The album spawned seven singles, including “Be the One” and “IDGAF”. In 2018, Lipa won the Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist.
Lipa is currently in the midst of her first major world tour in support of her debut album. The tour will make stops in North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania through December 2018. So far, no dates have been announced for Detroit, Michigan. However, given that the tour is making stops in nearby Chicago (July 6) and Toronto (July 23), it’s likely that Dua Lipa will eventually come to Detroit as well. Stay tuned for updates!

Dua Lipa was born in London, England on August 22, 1995, to Albanian parents. Dua’s mother, Anesa Lipa (née Rexha), is a psychologist, and her father, Dukagjin Lipa, is a marketing executive and hotelier. Her paternal grandfather was the Kosovo-Albanian imam Bekim Lipa. She has one older sister, Gjinna. At age 14, Lipa began posting videos of herself singing on YouTube. In 2013, she starred in an ad for The X Factor Albania singing Katy Perry’s “Firework”.
