The Big Three
The auto industry. Motor City. These are a few phrases that come to mind when thinking about Detroit. The Big Three, which are General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford, have all had their headquarters in Detroit. Ford
Ford is an American multinational automaker headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. It was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903. The company sells automobiles and commercial vehicles under the Ford brand and most luxury cars under the Lincoln brand. Ford also owns Brazilian SUV manufacturer Troller, an 8% stake in Aston Martin of the United Kingdom, and a 49% stake in Jiangling Motors of China. It also has joint-ventures in China, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Russia. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and is controlled by the Ford family; they have minority ownership but the majority of the voting power.

Chrysler
Chrysler is an American automobile manufacturer headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The company was founded in 1925 by Walter Chrysler and today, it is a subsidiary of the Italian multinational automobile manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
Chrysler is known for its luxury vehicles, as well as its affordable models. Some of the most popular Chrysler models include the 300 (a full-size sedan), the Pacifica (a minivan), and the Voyager (another minivan).
Chrysler has a long history in the United States, and it has been a part of Detroit’s “Big Three” automakers (along with General Motors and Ford) for most of its existence.

The food
Detroit is home to some great food. The city is known for its coney dogs, square pizza, and of course, the Coney Dog. The Coney Dog is a hot dog in a bun topped with chili, onions, and mustard. It’s a simple sandwich, but it’s one of the things that makes Detroit unique.
Square pizza is another one of Detroit’s signature foods. The pizza is made in a square pan and has a thick crust. It’s usually cut into small squares and served with a variety of toppings.
Finally, no discussion of Detroit food would be complete without mention of the city’s famous coney dogs. Coney dogs are hot dogs topped with chili, onions, and mustard. They’re simple but delicious, and they’re one of the things that make Detroit special.
