Dana 35 Truetrac Installation:

Installing a Dana 35 Truetrac is not difficult, but there are a few things you need to know before you get started. First, it’s important to choose the right gear ratio for your application. The Dana 35 offers several different ratios, so be sure to consult with an expert before making your final decision. Once you’ve chosen the right ratio, it’s time to install the Truetrac itself. The process is fairly straightforward, but we recommend watching a few instructional videos before getting started.

Super 35 Kit With Truetrac:

If you’re looking for even more strength and durability from your Dana 35 axle, consider upgrading to a Super 35 kit with Truetrac. This upgrade will give your axle the ability to handle more torque and power, making it ideal for those who want to push their vehicle to the limit. The installation process is similar to that of the standard Dana 35 Truetrac kit, but there are a few additional steps involved. Be sure to follow all instructions carefully and watch some video tutorials if necessary. With proper installation, your Super 35 kit will give you years of trouble-free performance.

What is a Detroit Truetrac Dana 35?

A Detroit Truetrac Dana 35 is a limited slip differential that uses a helical gear system to provide continuous power to both wheels, even if one is slipping. The Dana 35 has been used in a wide variety of vehicles, including Jeeps, Ford trucks and SUVs, and Dodge trucks and SUVs.

How does a Detroit Truetrac Dana 35 work?

The Dana 35 is a type of differential used in many cars and trucks. It uses a system of gears to allow the wheels to turn at different speeds when going around corners. The Truetrac is an improvement over the standard Dana 35 that allows it to work better under extreme conditions, such as when one wheel is slipping on ice or mud.

To understand how the Truetrac works, it helps to first understand how a standard Dana 35 works. The Dana 35 uses a series of bevel gears that are mounted on spider gears. The spider gears are mounted on axles that go to each wheel. When the car goes around a corner, the inner wheels have to travel a shorter distance than the outer wheels. This means that they have to turn faster than the outer wheels.

The problem with this design is that if one wheel starts to slip, then all of the power will go to that wheel and it will spin without moving the car forward (or worse, it will cause the car to fishtail). The Truetrac improves upon this design by using clutch plates and cones instead of spider gears.

These clutch plates are connected to both axles and they lock together when one side starts to slip. This transfers power from the slipping side to the other side where there is more traction. This prevents one wheel from spinning uselessly and allows the car to maintain traction and move forward even under difficult conditions.

Why use a Detroit Truetrac Dana 35?

The Dana 35 is a great option for those looking for a reliable and affordable axle. The Truetrac system provides dependable traction, while the rebuild kit ensures that your axle will last for years to come.

Installation

4. Clean all of the old sealant off of carrier using a putty knife and then clean off any residual sealant with mineral spirits and a rag.

5. Place the new Truetrac unit into position in the carrier making sure that all of The splines are properly engaged..

6 Install new bolts to hold Truetrac in place using your torque wrench to tighten them to specifications in sequence..

8 reinstall your ring gear being careful not to cross thread any of The bolts..

9 once The bolts are tightened To specifications reinstall your differential cover using RTV silicone or other sealant around The edge Of Thecover where it meets The housing..
