Roster
The Detroit Mercy softball team is made up of 22 talented student-athletes who are ready to compete at the Division I level. The team is led by head coach John Conway, who is entering his 12th season at the helm of the program. The Titans have a strong lineup that features eight seniors, four juniors, six sophomores, and four freshmen.
The senior class is comprised of co-captains Allison Borkowski and Hayley Selesky, as well as Alex Bauer, Emily Beazley, Katelyn Carrigan, Jaycee Eichelberger, Madeline MacLean, and Morgan Overaitis. This group has been a part of some successful teams during their time at Detroit Mercy and will look to finish their careers on a high note.
The junior class consists of second baseman Justine Barone, shortstop McKayla Lombardi, third baseman Kennedy Novakowski, and outfielder Emily Zustiak. These veterans will be counted on to provide leadership for the younger players on the roster.
The sophomore class is made up of first baseman Brenna Brownfield, catcher Nicole Doyle, outfielder Sami Friesenheimer, pitcher/infielder Taryn Lynch, utility player Rylie McFadden-Dixon_x000D_ , infielder Annie Soisson_x000D_ , and pitcher/outfielder Taylor Woods. This group will be looking to make an impact at the varsity level after gaining valuable experience last season.

Schedule:
The Detroit Mercy softball team will open its 2019 season with a pair of road games against Bowling Green on February 8th (doubleheader) before heading to Florida for its annual Spring Break Trip from March 1-10. The Titans will play ten games over their break in Clearwater Beach against opponents from across the country including Iowa State (March 1), Hofstra (March 3), Pittsburgh (March 5), Kent State (March 6), Bradley (March 7), Northern Illinois (March 8), Stony Brook (March 9) ,and Central Michigan (March 10). After returning from Florida , Detroit Mercy will have another busy week with five games scheduled from March 13-17 including home contests against Eastern Michigan(3/13)and Oakland(3/15) as well as road games at Toledo(3/14)and Notre Dame(3/17). The Titans’ final non-conference game of the season will take place on April 3 when they host Wright State before beginning Horizon League play._x0020__x0020__

Mercy High School Softball
The Mercy High School softball team is one of the most competitive and successful teams in the state of Michigan. The team is led by Head Coach Julie Vigeland, who has been at the helm for over 20 years. The program has produced numerous All-State and All-American players, as well as multiple Division I and professional athletes.
The team’s success can be attributed to a number of factors, including Vigeland’s coaching ability, the talent of the players, and the support of the school and community.
